Minden planet path

An excursion of a completely different kind is the discovery of our solar system: The Minden planet path makes the enormous proportions in our solar system tangible. At a scale of 1:1 billion, the sun shrinks to a diameter of 1.39 m and the earth to 1.3 cm. Nevertheless, the distance between Pluto and the sun is still 5.9 kilometers!

The planet path was set up on the 150th anniversary of the death of the astronomer Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel in 1996 by students and teachers of the Besselgymnasium and can best be experienced by bike. The start is at the Prussian Museum (Sun) and leads you along the Weser in the direction of Petershagen. More planets are waiting for you on the Weser cycle path.
